If you're getting a couple of good amp sims for $1700, you're ahead of the game. There are a couple of the "machines" that I haven't touched since the day I got it. And, judging by the development love Native Instruments are putting its way, it looks set to be the guitarists choice in the future, too. I get good Phase 90 & 100 sounds, flangers like EHX & MXR, a couple of different trems, a Leslie, auto-wah and auto-swell without needing those 10 different pedals. Guitar Rig has become one of the go-to effects for the digital musician/guitarist in the past few years.
I wound up setting up about 15-20 usable ones and use less than 10 regularly. When I got a Mobius years ago I had this silly idea that I had to somehow take advantage of 200 slots to get my money's worth. just like the difference between killer bedroom tones and usable stage ones. Presets are designed to sell the pedal in the store, but might be "too much" in a lot of ways for gigs. This is pretty normal for any device that has a lot of capability. They all say the same thing though, that they had to tweak or tone down presets to get tones they wanted on gigs. Designed to be the missing link between a guitarist’s rig and the PA or audio interface, this pedal is loaded with 32 Two Notes cabinets, eight power amps, eight mics, and eight rooms to choose from. You can load a loop into Guitar Rigs own looper module, but for our purposes its easier to do it from a DAW track. Load a loop into your DAW and call up an instance of Guitar Rig. Then, go to the GTR6 User Content folder. You can start with presets of course, or build your own rigs from scratch. Copy both folders Jamie Lidell and Phase Fatale to your clipboard. The default locations are: Open that folder and go to Sounds > Guitar Rig Presets. I have a couple of friends who are getting great sounds out of them. The Community Drive folder is installed to the Content Location you set in Native Access Preferences.
